Some years ago, my youngest daughter at age 12, came home from the public library with what I thought was a shocking book, "The Joy's of Sex".
In flipping through the pages I'm thinking, how do you get in those positions! It was very graphic!
I returned it to the library and reamed the lady behind the desk. She said that as long as my daughter had a library card she could check out whatever she wanted.
So, parents, keep checking your kids book bags and watch what they buy at the school book fair.
This book is a disgusting example the left uses in the loop hole offered by "freedom of speech!" This is not what the authors of the constitution had in mind and EVERYONE knows it period! To say this guy has a right to write and sell this book is insane. What about the consequences? What about the high teen rape rate? What about innocense? I cannot write a book that places teens or children or anyone else at risk no matter WHAT I may feel my rights are ... by selling that book my rights of raising my children up in the country without having to be violated of their innocense has been ignored.
If teens think that "oral sex" isn't actually intercourse it's because we as a society have allowed them and directed them to think that. This book is nothing moral than another seed of debouchery to plant in the minds of our children.
No I wouldn't buy this book for ANY of my teens and anyone selling it should be arrested for selling pornagraphy to a minor.
No, I would not buy this for my child. I don't believe in censorship, but the idea that this is marketed towards young teens is crazy. Of course when I was growing up the book "Are you there God, it's me, Margaret?" by Judy Blume was considered risque. The burden for what kids are allowed to read still needs to fall to the parents, however. The parents need to be involved enough in their kids lives to know what their kids are reading and doing.
"It is to erase the fixed smiles of sleeping couples that Satan trained roosters to crow at 5 in the morning" - Tom Robbins
16 is the age of consent where I am, so I could buy that book. It sounds like a fun read.
But do any of you folks stop and think how the lives of those you call 'kids' are constantly controlled by the adult world?
Take me, for instance. I have to answer to my mum (who is 12,000 miles away), I have to answer to my aunt (who is my legal guardian in Australia when I am not at school,) and I have to answer to the school authorities (who are my joint guardians). Like I'm a teen, but I am not allowed to stay out overnight, I have to let the school authorities know where I am if I am not at my aunt's place, etc. And a bit over a year ago, when I was like 15, my aunt even stopped me hanging with a group of older guys, just coz they were allowing me to drink a bit. Would any of you like to live like that?![]()
No, no, no - I would NOT buy that one!
Oh - another icky book... Remember those "My friends" books? You had to ask your friends to fill in their personal info and likes and dislikes an so on?
Around Christmas time, I was looking around in our local bookstore, and found something that made me go "EWWWW!"
It basically had the same layout as the old "My friends" books, but it was called "My makeouts"!!!
Yup, list what you did, rank it, etc.
Where is this world GOING!?!
"It's fun to make out, you can write ALL about it in this little nice book..."
The "Rainbow party" thing grosses me out to no end! My daughter had read about it or something, and she said "EWWWWW!" too, thank goodness.
Turning oral sex into a game, a competition, and we're talking young teenagers here - this is just SO wrong!!!
That's when I put my foot down - sex is something between TWO people, and it also involves romance, love and affection. People WATCHING, maybe even cheering you on, that's NOT the way it's suppose to be!!!
I'm seriously wondering what the guys are going to be saying about the girls who go to these "Rainbow" things - anyone willing to bet against me if I say these girls won't exactly be talked about because they are so "sweet and nice"?!?
What did the boy banana say to the girl banana?
“You have a lot of appeal.”
I prefer banana peel over sex appeal ANY TIME!!!
my 12 year old thought those lipstick girls were sluts.
it's fiction.
you bunch of freeking closet perverts.
I subscribe to Playboy for the pictures. I'm a photographer and they have the best in the world, I admire their work.
