OAKLAND — The city's financial advisers, bankers and insurers have until Oct. 1 to disclose whether they participated in the slave trade. Under an ordinance formally adopted by the Oakland City Council earlier this week, all firms doing business with the city must reveal whether they or their parent companies bought or sold slaves, used slaves as collateral or loaned money used to purchase slaves...

State sues nine companies for failing to tell of carcinogenSacramento -- Attorney General Bill Lockyer sued fast-food giants McDonald's, Burger King and KFC and the makers of several popular potato-chip brands Friday, alleging that they have failed to warn California consumers about the dangers of acrylamide, a carcinogen produced when potatoes and other starchy foods are cooked at high temperatures.
The lawsuit, the first of its kind filed by any state, claims the companies are violating California's Proposition 65, the voter-approved initiative that requires warnings when people are exposed to known carcinogens or toxic chemicals.

Should just tell the companys to protect themselves by claiming that everything sold in Californicate is dangerous or fattening! I have several friends that are over the road truckers and have had put into their driving contracts that they do not have to enter the state of Californicate at any time. "Inky"
Let's see, the people in California don't want homosexual marriage, so, the State's elected officials try to have it anyway. The people in the whole Country realize that we have a MAJOR problem with illegal aliens, and as the government all but ignores the situation, California does this...
