I live in Missouri and the issue is on my ballot. It hits close to home because as some of you know that I've been dealt a blow that is life threatening and very, very scary.
I will vote NO on Amendment 2. Not that I'm opposed to finding relief and cures for life-threatening illnesses - but because I truly believe there is another way which will not compromise the sanctity of humal life. The libs make it sound like it's all or nothing.
Try to get anything published in Missouri that explains the links between stem cells and malignancies or references any articles about it right now. No way. The St Louis paper will not print it and the Star won't even think about it. They want people making decisions without having the facts. It's pathetic pandering to liberals and their buddies that want their hands on never ending supplies of research money and will never produce all these cures they talk about but will probably kill many people with various types of cancers.
They just plain lie to the public. Adult stem cells have proven to be helpful, but not so with the embryonic cells, they produce tumors. This is just more liberal media political hype and crap, just like the global warming craze.
There is an ad or article out now about how poor women are going to be subjecting themselves to dangerous egg harvesting for the money. But the media won't report any bad effets of that either.

Bird - exactly right. Embyonic stem cell have given no cures. States like MA and CA have state funded research and have deveoped nothing this far. Adult stem cells cure over 80 different diseases. We NEED to put our funds toward developing MORE cures with the cell that actually work. Adult stem cell cure disease without destroying human life. I personally pity people like MJF because they are given false hope about cures by people with political motive.

Apparently a few Hollywood conservatives have put out an ad countering Michael J. Fox's ad on stem cell research.
Entering from stage left, is a Hollywood producer, Don Murphy, who also has his own blog site.
This producer had asked Patricia Heaton (Debra on "Everybody Loves Raymond") to play the mom in his movie "Apt Pupil" and she turned down the part and she complained about what the movie would do to kids.
Here is what he had to say about her doing the stem cell ad;

I got to looking at the elected personnel dealing with my county, and about 75% are Reps. That might explain why my county has 3.2% unemployment and building businesses like Donald Trump on steriods.
