Apparently with our current low oil/gas prices and the booming economic recovery currently underway, we don't need it.
Yes, I'm being sarcastic.

I love the timing. Announced on eia.gov today:
US Average Gasoline Price, all grades, Jan 19 2009: $1.898
US Average Gasoline Price, all grades/formulae, Jan 16 2011: $3.451
That's an increase of over 80% since Obama took office.

But fear not. "Pipelines? We don't need no steenkin' pipelines". No sir. Not at all. Our Fearless Leader tells us so!

When Obummer was running for office, he said that he didn't mind higher gas prices, just that they had gone up too quickly. That was when gas had spiked to $4.00 a gallon when oil jumped to $147 a barrel.
Today gas is near $4.00 gal. and oil is running just under $100. ????
Back in '08, his now green energy czar Chu, said he wanted to see gasoline prices at around the same as Europe's, which in dollars would be somewhere around $7.00. (don't know what the Euro is trading today, but 3 years ago it would have been $7)
What this administration is doing has been obvious from the get-go, it's part of their plan. They see this as a way to get more money to put into things like Solyndra and Volt.

Forcing someone to live by another person's stupidity = Socialism
Notice you don't see the Chevy Volt commercial with the two burger dudes in it anymore??
Keystone Pipeline Would Be Safer Than Existing US Oil Pipelines
Sounds to me like the "safety" issue has just been exposed as a pretext.
But I think everyone here already figured that out.
